The DAAD has been funding the German Studies course since 2011 from the title “Scholarships for the training and further education of African German students and German lecturers” with up to 10 scholarships (in-country and in the region) at the UoN as well as the one-semester stay in Germany included.
The participation in the course also includes a research stay in Germany at the beginning of the second year of study (if funds are available)
After the formal examination, the preselected applicants must apply to the UoN for admission to the Master’s programme.
Successful applicants will then get a professional assessment and be invited to an interview with the commission by the Nairobi branch office.
In addition to previous academic achievements and knowledge of German, selection criteria include a convincing presentation of the professional and personal motives for participating in the course.
Only Master’s students admitted to the course by the UoN can receive a DAAD scholarship.
