The University of Southampton is a research university located in Southampton, England. Southampton is a founding member of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities in Britain. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework, the university was ranked 18th in the United Kingdom for the average quality of research submitted, 11th for research power and 8th for research intensity. There is no University deadline for applications for taught programmes, however, some faculties may have their own application deadlines. Most courses start in September but some faculties may be able to consider late applications to the current cycle.
