The School of Transnational Governance (STG) at the European University Institute (EUI) presents a fully-funded Policy Leader Fellowship to early- and mid-career policy professionals for the academic year 2020-2021 in Italy.  The Policy Leader Fellowship is a unique opportunity for policy professionals from around the world to further develop their policy work and professional skills whilst participating in workshops, training, and skills development sessions, conferences, and other events. In addition to that, fellows will have the opportunity to interact with the other fellows, policymakers and the academic community at the EUI.

Funding/Financial Aid

The Policy Leader Fellowship fellowship at the European University Institute, Italy is a fully-funded opportunity. Fellows will be eligible for a grant of € 2,500 per month. The Fellowship will also cover the travel and accommodation expenses of the successful candidates. In addition to that, family allowance is available where appropriate. Fellows might be eligible for an allowance of € 200 per month each if s/he has any dependent child. The fellowships last for 5 (fixed term in the first or second semester) or 10 months (the fixed term from September to June). However, fellows must live in the area of Florence for the duration of their fellowships. The language of the program is English.

Eligibilities 

  • Candidates must be early- or mid-career professionals (e.g. in politics, civil service, media, and non-governmental organizations).
  • S/he must be able to demonstrate both professional experience and potential for future excellence in the policy sphere. Similarly, candidates must be Individuals with engagement in policy issues, especially those related to transnational governance.
  • S/he must be self-motivated, able to present a clear work plan for the fellowship to show what the applicant will achieve and how this work will have a ‘multiplier’ effect after the fellowship.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • The EUI encourages applications from curious and engaged contributors.
  • Furthermore, fellows will be part of the EUI community on a daily basis and to participate in peer discussions on topics that may be new and challenging.
