United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction in Thailand calls applications for internship in Information Management. The internship is for a period of two to six months depending on the needs of each office. The internship is unpaid and full-time where interns work five days per week under the supervision of a staff member.
Responsibilities
The intern will be doing the following duties
- Assisting in conducting design pattern inventory and assisting in standardizing patterns across UNDRR web properties.
- Similarly, assisting in championing web accessibility standards across UNDRR web properties.
- Assisting in conducting user research (which may include, but is not limited to, focus groups, interviews, and usability testing) to understand user needs.
- Also, translating user research insights into website design requirements and communicating these insights to the Tech & Design team and relevant product owner.
- Designing information architecture for the website – including drafting information flows and designing lo-fidelity wireframes that clearly illustrate site structure and information flows.
- Supporting in producing design specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios as well as working closely with the technical team to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
- Communicating with developers, including providing input on any needed digital enhancements and advocating for users.
- Furthermore, conducting layout adjustments and troubleshooting based on user feedback.
Required Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Information Management Internship in Thailand, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Enrollment in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Enrollment in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Must have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.
Other Requirements
- Should have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Similarly, should have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the Programme.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is necessary for the Internship Programme.
- Furthermore, knowledge of a second United Nations official language is an asset.
