The Social Sciences Division at the University of New Mexico-Valencia is in need of a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member to teach ECED courses. You should teach the course either online or face-to-face, for Summer 2022, Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.

The position may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses.

The University of New Mexico functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  It emphasis teaching excellence with the faculty and staff serving a student body of over 2,000 credit students per semester.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Family & Child Studies, Early Childhood Education, Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Studies or related fields
  • One year of teaching experience in a post-secondary institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree of PhD in Early Childhood Education, Family & Child Studies, Language, Literacy and Sociocultural Studies, or related fields
  • One year of teaching experience at a high school level
  • 1-year teaching experience in a community college
  • One year teaching experience in Canvas
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
