Summary:

The Admissions Reviewer reviews freshman applications during current admission season by utilizing a holistic assessment of the complete application using a computer in a lab setting on campus. Selected candidates will be required to objectively evaluate information in a timely and professional manner while paying attention to detail. Must be able to conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards consistent with all state and federal accreditation and institutional rules and regulations regarding student recruitment. Moreover, must be motivated, organized, thoughtful, and diplomatic. Also, ability to process, address, and prioritize confidential information.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to evaluate and review applications using computer technology
  • Moreover, must be able to maintain weekly reports of all activities and adhere to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines
  • Also, ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • This position requires the use of a computer at a desk in a computer lab setting
  • Likewise, must be motivated, organized, thoughtful, and diplomatic
  • Weekend and/or extended work hours may be necessary and required during peak periods of the review cycle on campus
  • Furthermore, This position is located in College Station, Texas

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience reviewing applications in an academic, counseling or related setting
  • Experience working at Texas A&M University or any institution of higher education
  • Also, outreach and/or recruitment experience
  • Experience with youth/diverse populations

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of higher education admissions, academic advising or related skills
  • Likewise, Working knowledge of higher education application process, particularly the application process at Texas A&M University
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office facets: Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Also, ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of FERPA
  • Furthermore, organizational and leadership skills
  • Also, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews freshman applications during current admission season by utilizing a holistic assessment of the complete application
