Summary:

The School of Art, Art History & Design seeks a dynamic and innovative individual for an Assistant Professor of Practice position to teach a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum in an undergraduate Graphic Design program that includes print, web, interactive and emerging media with an expected start date of August 16, 2021.

Likewise, the Assistant Professor of Practice position is a full-time, non-tenure leading, two year academic position with a renewable appointment. Also, this candidate should have a record of creative and professional achievement in the field of Graphic Design. This individual must demonstrate college teaching effectiveness including innovative use of instructional technology. This individual must have expertise in one or more of the following: interaction design, user experience design, typography, branding, package design, design history, information design, creative coding, social design, publication design, or motion graphics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach lower and upper-division courses in Graphic Design
  • Also, develop curriculum and programs in collaboration with the Graphic Design faculty
  • Likewise, develop and maintain a teaching and service practice consistent with School criteria.

Minimum Qualifications

The incumbent must meet following for Vacancy for Assistant Professor in the USA

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, illustration, visual communication, interactive design, advertising, or related discipline plus 3-5 years of related professional experience.
  • Also, demonstrable record of creative and professional achievement in the field of Graphic Design.
  • Likewise, knowledge of traditional, current, emerging, and innovative practices and technologies in design curriculum.
  • Moreover, expertise in one or more of the following: interaction design, user experience design, typography, branding, package design, design history, information design, creative coding, social design, publication design, or motion graphics.
  • Similarly, broad-based knowledge of modern and contemporary issues design
  • Also, excellent writing and communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • An MFA in Art/Design or related discipline.
  • Also, three years successful university-level teaching experience or equivalent professional experience
  • Additionally, a nationally established and active professional art/design practice
  • Likewise, experience teaching and mentoring students.
