Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of one year of demonstrated successful teaching experience in both the lecture and laboratory portions of one or more IT-related disciplines.
  • Also, thorough understanding of technologies used to support classroom instruction and online instruction such as Blackboard and Canvas, etc.
  • Additionally, ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
  • Current IT certification(s) related to the course(s) being taught or the certification(s) students are being prepared for, such as of A+, CSFA, CEH, CIW, MCP, DFCP, Network+, Security+, CCENT, CCNA, etc.
  • Likewise, recent industry experience related to the course(s)

Desired Qualification:

  • Certified Technical Trainer or Microsoft Certified Trainer certification.
  • Also, active memberships in professional IT related organizations such as AITP, DAMA, HTCIA, HTCC, ISSA, ISACA, etc.
  • Experience with latest online and non-traditional learning methodologies.
  • Experience with developing and delivering Competency Based Education.
  • Likewise, experience with participating in community outreach activities.
  • Additionally, a philosophy of education and training appropriate to IT job placement and the community college environment.
  • Demonstrated professional attitude with both students and colleagues.
  • Moreover, demonstrated ability to effectively teach students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere of inclusion.

Physical Work:

Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.
