Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Ambulatory Care Technician for the Department of Medicine – Division of Infectious Disease within the New Jersey Medical School. Additionally, under the direction of the Program Manager, the Ambulatory Care Technician (ACT) will provide medical assistance to nurses and physicians in the overall care of patients, including technical procedures such as phlebotomy. Also, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. This position also assists with receptionist, telephone, and filing duties.

Duties

Among the key duties of this position are the following for Vacancy for Care Technician in the USA:

  • Under clinical supervision, performs delegated procedures, common to the specialty area in a safe, effective, and efficient manner according to Clinical Practice Policy and Procedures.
  • Also, performs telephone and in-person screenings.
  • Performs chart review prior to clinic visit to obtain historical data.
  • Assists provider in identified patient procedures, treatments and examinations (preparation, positioning, supplies, equipment).
  • Likewise, appropriately obtains and manages specimens, including: labeling, form completion, transport to laboratories, and log maintenance. Performs quality control for waived testing.
  • Recognizes emergency situations and implements emergency procedures according to clinic guidelines.
