Posting Summary

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is seeking a Dental Assistant to work in the University Dental Center – Extramural Clinics in Somerdale, NJ (Southern New Jersey). Under the direction of the Dental Care Provider, the Dental Assistant will assist the Dentist during the examination and treatment of patients and assist the Dental Hygienist, if needed. Likewise, performs both chair-side and desk-side duties, sterilizing, inventory, supply ordering, equipment maintenance, radiation badge maintenance and laboratory duties.

Duties:

The incumbent must meet the following for Vacancy for Dental Assistant in the USA:

• Prepares room for each patient setting up instruments and supplies.
• Similarly, seats patients, adjusts chair and light, and drapes patients with protective covers.
• Takes and records vital signs on each patient at each appointment and updates medical history. Obtains Dentist’s signature/initials.
• Moreover, maintains patient’s records in accordance with Quality Assurance Guidelines.
• Passes instruments to the Dentist during examination and treatment of patients.
• Also, charts results of the Dentist’s examination.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting Program.

Certifications/Licenses

• Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) in the State of New Jersey.
• Also, valid Dental Radiologic Technology License issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
• Likewise, CPR Certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
