About:

Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time, twelve-month, Assistant Dean of Graduate Business Program position at the Mequon, WI campus. Ideal candidates will be able to lead, as Assistant Dean, our Graduate Business programs: Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Product Development (MPD) and Master of Science in Leadership (MSL). Also, the successful candidate will be innovative and committed to advancing academic graduate programs. The candidate will also teach relevant graduate business course. Faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Likewise, this position reports directly to the Dean of the Batterman School of Business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies and policies to ensure strong student recruitment and retention for all graduate business programs;
  • Also, oversee the Business Scholars Program associated with the MBA degree, coordinating with undergraduate advisors;
  • Likewise, oversee student affairs for graduate business programs, including providing recognitions and disciplinary actions and addressing student concerns and complaints in collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Dean and other key stakeholders to establish strategic vision and objectives for graduate business programs;
  • Similarly, support development of collaborative partnerships with local, regional, national and international business communities and research institutions;
  • Identify potential new programs and evaluate existing programs to ensure ongoing quality and student success;
  • Help facilitate program marketing and admissions;
  • Lead continuous assessment through data-driven development and revision of curriculum to ensure academic excellence and integrity of all graduate programs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Administrative and leadership roles in academia or industry
  • Ability to use technology in business, with possible applications in instruction and advising
  • A high standard of professional integrity, flexibility, strong team-building skills, and ability to work in complex settings
  • Commitment to educational excellence, innovative curriculum development and delivery
  • Interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Commitment to the Christian faith and Concordia University mission and a member of a Christian church
  • Experience and ability to negotiate and execute agreements and contract is preferred
  • Significant experience in business leading and managing teams and with responsibility for generating revenue and managing a P&L is preferred
  • Ability and qualifications to teach across graduate business disciplines is also preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • A member of a Christian church
  • Also, a graduate degree in business or leadership and willingness to obtain a doctoral degree
  • Additionally, administrative and leadership roles in academia or industry
  • Likewise, ability to use technology in business, with possible applications in instruction and advising
  • Moreover, high standard of professional integrity, flexibility, strong team-building skills, and ability to work in complex settings
  • Similarly, commitment to educational excellence, innovative curriculum development and delivery
  • Interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and ability to negotiate and execute agreements and contracts
  • Similarly, significant experience in business leading and managing teams and with responsibility for generating revenue and managing a P&L
  • Also, earned doctorate in a business-related field, or another field with successful management-level business experience
  • Additionally, ability and qualifications to teach across graduate business disciplines
  • Experience in or potential for developing and teaching online courses.
