Job Duties:

The ECU Language Academy (ECULA) is seeking applications for short-term Instructional Consultants to lead one or more non-credit courses during 2020. Part-time instructors are responsible for the planning and execution of courses plus other duties as assigned. Classes meet between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday, throughout the year. Required duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create, maintain, and distribute syllabi and other course-related documents for each assigned course
  • Moreover, maintain syllabi and other course-related documents on a departmental shared drive
  • Also, prepare and execute lessons as per the SLOs established by the program
  • Likewise, keep accurate attendance records
  • Additionally, create, administer, and grade assessments, including midterm and final exams
  • Similarly, keep and maintain accurate grade records using the Blackboard platform
  • Also, accompany students to all Speech and Language Clinic sessions
  • Similarly, serve on ECULA’s Curriculum Committee
  • Also, attend all faculty meetings
  • Moreover, distribute student evaluations at the end of each semester or as requested by the Director.

Minimum Education

  • For Level 1 course: Graduate TESOL certificate
  • Furthermore, for all other levels: A master’s degree in TESOL or a related discipline and TESOL experience in a college/university setting.
