Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Breast Surgery Physician Specialist for the Department of  Surgery within the New Jersey Medical School.  Under the direction of the Department Chair, the Breast Surgery Physician Specialist will be expected to participate in all activities to the satisfaction of the Department Chair, and/or Division Chief.  Likewise, incumbent will provide breast surgery inpatient, outpatient, surgical and bedside patient care to all patients requiring these services.  Provide call coverage to University Hospital and any other designated outside facility

New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Additionally, aligned with Rutgers University-New Brunswick and collaborating university wide, RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and five centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research.

Duties:

Among the key duties of this position are the following for Vacancy for Physician Specialist in the USA:

  • Provide breast surgery and general surgery clinical services to University Hospital and any other designated outside facility.
  • Complete medical records within seven (7) days of the date of service.
  • Also, perform breast surgery and general surgery consultations and any emergency surgeries when on call.
  • Furthermore, fulfill other clinical responsibilities as may be assigned by the Division Chief and/or Department Chair.
  • Likewise, complete all coding and charge entry for all patient encounters within seven (7) days of the date of service.
  • Furthermore, complete Medicare time studies or such other documents required for documenting services under the program and for documenting services as outlined in this description.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid knowledge of computer software programs (Microsoft Office, EPIC, etc.).
  • Moreover, must have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Additionally, must hold one’s self accountable to high standards of professional excellence.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift or exert force up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
