New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Aligned with Rutgers University-New Brunswick and collaborating university wide, RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and six centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, clinical and translational research, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation within the New Jersey Medical School.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be interested in conducting cognitive and behavioral neuroscience research in Autism Spectrum Disorder. The two-year funded program aims to prepare scientists for a career in clinical research within the specialty area of pediatric research, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder.


  • Assists in ongoing endeavors as well as developing his/her own mentored research projects. There are opportunities for fellows to join existing programs of the Department of Spinal Injury Research and Outcome Research and the Department of Disability Employment Research.
  • Additionally, contribute towards various aspects of research projects ranging from inception (e.g., study formulation, grants-writing, etc.) to manuscript publication.
  • Furthermore, fulfill all mandatory Compliance requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Qualifying candidates must have an earned doctorate in neuroscience (e.g. cognitive, behavioral), neuropsychology, psychology, or a related field.
  • Similarly, strong candidates will have prior experience in performing research studies on human subjects. Also, as well as some history of publication and presentation of original research.
  • Also, experience with neuropsychological testing, experience with neuroimaging (e.g., fMRI, DTI).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to independently develop processing methods for data analysis (using for example Matlab or Labview).
  • Likewise, knowledge of statistical data analysis, and excellent written communication skills.
