About:

The University of Notre Dame du Lac is a private Catholic research university in Notre Dame, Indiana, outside the city of South Bend. It was founded in 1842 by Edward Sorin. Also, the main campus covers 1,261 acres  in a suburban setting; it contains a number of recognizable landmarks, such as the Golden Dome, the Word of Life mural, Notre Dame Stadium, and the Basilica.

Summary for Job:

The Program Manager will be responsible for the management of an anticipated regional research and policy translation project to examine the role of education in violence prevention in Central America, the Dominican Republic and the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. Additionally, the Program Manager will possess a strong background in research and/or project management in complex settings. Also, s/he will provide support to a HQ and field-based team, including partner organizations. Likewise, the Program Manager will coordinate with faculty and staff at the University of Notre Dame to provide technical assistance to the project. Moreover, this position requires domestic and international travel and fluency in Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications:

The University prefers B.A. in education, social science, international affairs, public administration or a related field

  • 3-4 years of experience managing and implementing global development programs.
  • Also, strong experience in conducting programs for federal funding agencies.
  • Similarly, requires knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures and solid knowledge of federal funder requirements.
  • Moreover, excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally and build capacity among colleagues from culturally diverse backgrounds and in different project settings.
  • Additionally, extensive international travel and independent field work is also expected for this position.
  • Likewise, University of Notre Dame requires strong oral and written Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical field experience in education and/or violence prevention, especially in Central America, the Dominican Republic or Caribbean.
