Job Summary

Perform and supervise clinical trials using PET/CT imaging. Manage submission of radiopharmaceutical INDs. To also assist the nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists and scientists involved with the CQCI. Management of activities involved with patient enrollments in clinical research trials and all regulatory submissions to the IRB and FDA. Also, perform multimodality image analysis including PET/CT, CT, MRI, and preclinical SPECT/CT and PET/MRI.

Essential Functions

  1. Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients by I.V. injection, inhalation or oral administration.
  2. Manages all essential aspects of clinical and research imaging including PET/CT scanning and tumor imaging response assessment using CT, MRI, and PET
  3. Similarly, support tumor imaging response assessment service in clinical trials including identification/configuration of response criteria, scheduling of physician interpretation, and coordination of software updates and services with external vendors.
  4. Moreover, manage all aspects of imaging clinical trials including maintaining regulatory documents, preparation of reports, and submission of documents to the IRB and FDA.
  5. Also, management of the submission and reporting related to INDs.
  6. Performs full range of quantitative PET dynamic and whole-body imaging procedures including blood sampling, metabolite analysis, and processing.
  7. Also, performs CT imaging as part of PET/CT procedure including fully diagnostic studies using of i.v. and oral contrast.
  8. Performs preclinical imaging studies using small animal SPECT/CT and PET/MRI scanners.
  9. Likewise, perform image analysis of PET/CT, CT, MRI, and preclinical SPECT/CT and PET/MRI images
  10. Moreover, maintains compliance with radiation safety policies and documentation requirements for receipt, disposal, and administration

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education).
  • Furthermore, four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors.
  • Also, demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Preferences

  • NMTCB (CNMT, PET) and ARRT CT certification; and a Basic Life Support Provider card or obtain one within one month of hire required.
  • Also, previous experience submitting Investigational New Drug (IND) applications and managing annual reports, amendments, and other submissions to the FDA.
  • Expertise in performing clinical PET/CT imaging procedure including FDG and Vizamyl brain studies, FDG and Axumin eyes to thighs and whole-body cancer studies, and research PET/CT studies utilizing FDG, FLT, FMISO, FES, H2O, Flutemetamol, Fluciclovine
  • Likewise, expertise in performing quantitative dynamic PET imaging including blood sampling and metabolite analysis
  • Experience as a clinical research coordinator including management of clinical trials, subject accrual, IRB protocol development and submissions, and IND submissions to FDA.
  • Additionally, training and/or experience in the latest techniques of radiation safety, radiopharmaceutical preparation and computer processing techniques to perform patient examinations.
