Description:

The research assistant will be responsible for overseeing and managing NIMH- and internally funded projects focused on brain-based prediction and characterization of comorbidity load/worse outcomes in the anxiety disorders, and on the development and delivery of accessible (e.g., brief in-person and internet-delivered) positive-affect-based interventions for depression and anxiety. Also, the position will provide the opportunity to learn or further develop skills in: research project management, participant recruitment and retention, EEG and fMRI data collection and analysis, clinical assessment and grants administration. Opportunities to publish academic manuscripts and/or present at international conferences may also be available, depending on interest and skillset. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related field (completed by Fall 2021) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Also, demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Similarly, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented

Preferred Education and Experience:

The incumbent must meet the following for Vacancy for Research Assistant in the USA:

  • Experience managing a lab and working on grant-funded projects
  • Also, prior experience in a human subjects research lab.
  • Prior experience managing grant-funded research projects.
  • Likewise, computer programming experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience working in a human subjects research lab, ideally using neurobiological methods (e.g., EEG, fMRI)
  • Also, high level of organization and interpersonal skill
  • Furthermore, clinical training or experience (e.g., assessments)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage participant selection (including clinical assessment) and retention for EEG and fMRI studies
  • Also, run fMRI and EEG experiments
  • Furthermore, process data and other duties
