Overview

New Jersey’s academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research, all with the goal of improving human health. Also, aligned with Rutgers University-New Brunswick and collaborating university wide, RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and six centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, clinical and translational research, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research.

Duties:

  • Collects or assists in collection of data from participating drug treatment centers, involving on-site activities at those centers and coordination with staff at those centers.
  • Also, revises and edits survey instruments in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Study Coordinator, and other research staff.
  • Assists with training post-doctoral fellows, medical students and research assistants in data management techniques and other research procedures as directed.
  • Additionally, collaborates with the Principal Investigator, Study Coordinator, and other research staff in designing and writing presentations and in writing and editing manuscripts.
  • Likewise, assists in writing IRB and other research protocols, and monitoring compliance.
  • Responsible for submitting purchase recommendations to his/her supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in biology, public health, biomedical science, premedical studies, or a related field.
  • Also, prior research experience, especially in epidemiology, public health, or quantitative social science, is an asset.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Must have a current New Jersey driver’s license.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Also, excellent quantitative skills.
  • Likewise, demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, including at a minimum Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SAS® Software.
  • Also, having own auto with current insurance is.
