Organization: Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance Office of Human Resources

Duties

The incumbent will do the following duties

  • Plans, organizes, manages and supervises the work of the Section.
  • Also, designs, develops and implements innovative human resources policies, best practices and strategies around talent management and employee engagement.
  • Provides policy guidance on conceptual strategy development and management of the implementation of overall strategies and intra and inter-divisional/departmental policies and best practices relating to the Organization’s engagement in anti-racism and inclusion.
  • Likewise, provides advice to management on the operationalization strategies and policies on diversity and race.
  • Furthermore, plans and oversees the management of activities undertaken by the Section; ensures that substantive work program and programmed activities are carried out in a timely fashion, coordinating diverse projects, and, in liaison with other organizations of the United Nations System, donors and agencies as appropriate.
  • Monitors and ensures the implementation of human resources policies, best practices and strategies.
  • Furthermore, reviews and analyses recruitment and selection processes, including outreach, evaluation and assessment methods and tools with a view to enhancing diversity in the global workforce of the Organization.

Qualifications

The candidate should meet the given criteria

Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in human resources management, business or public administration, law, social sciences, education or related area. Additionally the organization may accept first-level university degree in combination with two years of qualifying experience in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience

A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management or related area, including at least five years of experience in leading diversity and inclusion efforts in an international setting is required.

Likewise, experience innovating in the development and implementation of multi-dimensional diversity programs, strategies or policies

Also, experience in change management

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the post, candidates must have fluency in English. Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
