About:

The International Labor Organization (ILO) is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice through setting international labor standards. Founded in October 1919 under the League of Nations, it is the first and oldest specialized agency of the UN. The ILO has 187 member states: 186 out of 193 UN member states plus the Cook Islands. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with around 40 field offices around the world, and employs some 2,700 staff.

Summary:

As part of the fourth development cooperation program (PIC IV) between the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Senegal, Luxembourg has sought the ILO’s support for the implementation of a project. Also, it is contributing to an increase in employment opportunities for young men and women in Senegal through increased employability and the promotion of self-employment.

This intervention is part of a persistent mismatch between the provision of training and the needs of the labor market, and a low consideration of entrepreneurship in the vocational training system.
