Description:

UNICEF is implementing with USAID funds a two-year program on ‘Strengthening Social and Health Protection in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina’ (April 2021 – April 2023). The overall objective is to strengthen education, health and social protection systems in selected locations to adequately respond to COVID-19 and enhance overall recovery and resilience, with a focus on children, youth and families. Also, health component’s main focus will be on the procurement of cold chain equipment, support in the establishment of digital immunization data collection and cold chain temperature monitoring as well as support for the risk communication activities relating to COVID-19 vaccination.

Accountabilities:

  • Support to program development and planning
  • Also, program management, monitoring and delivery of results
  • Technical and operational support to program implementation
  • Likewise, networking and partnership building
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
  • Moreover, provide support to governmental and CSO partners in issues related to health

Qualification:

  • A university degree in one of the following fields: public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.
  • Also, a minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health/nutrition planning and management, cold chain management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.
  • Likewise, understanding of the overall political, administrative and institutional context of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the area of strategic planning, civil society engagement, communications and outreach, stakeholder cooperation, and project cycle design, management and implementation is an asset;
  • Additionally, ability to work independently as well as with teams;
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset;
  • Furthermore, fluency in local language and proficiency in English
