Job Purpose

The Program Management Support Intern – under line management of the IFRC Operations Manager for Malaysia – will provide effective support to the implementation of the Cash and Voucher assistance in response to COVID-19, work closely with the MRCS Cash focal person and with technical support from the APRO Regional cash and voucher assistance coordinator. The intern is also expected to ensure that process and learning are captured to inform the future cash and voucher assistance of MRCS. The intern will contribute to putting in place a robust system or approach for MRCS to be capturing the reach of its programs not only in terms of number of people but also other key programmatic indicators, including disaggregation by type of recipient and geographical locations.

Responsibilities

 

  • The intern will support Malaysian Red Crescent Society in delivering efficient and effective cash and voucher assistance.
  • Similarly, support the MRCS Cash focal person in coordinating with the State Branches in ensuring all necessary arrangements.
  • Likewise, help in coordinating with relevant MRCS National Headquarters department specifically Finance and with the senior management.
  • Also, help the roll out and refinement of Community engagement and accountability systems, ensure that beneficiary feedback are accounted and reported to the MRCS cash focal person.
  • Additionally, support in organizing lessons learned workshops, document key lessons and recommendations
  • Support the organization of training workshops, peer-to-peer exchange visits, field assessments.

Education

The ideal candidate should have graduated within the past 12 months with – or be working towards – an advanced academic qualification in disaster management, development, international relations or a related field, with interest for becoming familiar with international humanitarian or development sector.

Position Arrangements:

  • The intern will work during normal working hours.
  • Also, the intern will be based at the MRCS headquarters located in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Likewise, the duration of this internship is six months maximum.
