Funded International scholarship is available at the University of Kent. Moreover, the University of Kent is inviting applications from students worldwide for all the postgraduate courses taught in the university. The University of Kent is a semi-collegiate public research university based in Kent, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1965 and is recognized as a Beloff’s plate glass university. The university has a rural campus north of Canterbury situated within 300 acres of parkland, housing over 6,000 students. Moreover, Kent is a research-led university with 24 schools and 40 specialist research centers spanning the sciences, technology, medical studies, the social sciences, arts, and humanities.

Realizing the need for a global workforce, the University of Kent has made its education accessible for students from all nationalities. Furthermore, to ease the students from financial burden, University of Kent also provides scholarships to its students. Moreover, the scholarships depend on several factors which include academic merit, financial need, and sports abilities. Among the scholarships, the University of Kent provides, the Kent Engineering and Digital Arts postgraduate scholarship aims at international students.


A maximum of 4 scholarships will be awarded to overseas applicants across all postgraduate taught and research programmes in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts. Further, the funded international scholarship amount is £4,000 one-off payment to the students with excellent merit. The scholarship award will be based on outstanding merit who meet all the criteria below.


Applicants must:-

  • You have to receive a conditional offer for either a postgraduate taught or postgraduate research programme in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts for September 2019
  • Moreover, you have to firmly accept an offer by 31 May 2019
  • A total of 4 scholarships worth £4,000.00 are available to all overseas applicants
  • Likewise, shortlisted applicants (with the exception of research applicants) will require to attend an interview (or via Skype for overseas applicants)
  • Additionally, scholarship holders will undertake reasonable duties to support the external profile of the School of Engineering and Digital Arts, for instance assisting with Open Days, outreach with the local community, working with the International Development team and promoting the School of Engineering and Digital Arts in their home countries
  • You can hold this award in conjunction with other awards and scholarships offered by the University of Kent
  • The university will pay the scholarship at the end of the first three months of registration.

How to apply

You should apply for the scholarship only after you have received a formal offer to study a programme in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts. Applications for the Scholarship must be made via your applicant portal. Once logged in, click on My Scholarships and Bursaries. You will then see a list of scholarships that you may be eligible to apply for. Click on Apply and follow the steps to submit your application. Moreover, as part of your application, you will need to upload an essay as a Word or PDF document. For this essay, please write no more than 750 words detailing how studying your chosen postgraduate programme at the School of Engineering and Digital Arts will enhance your career and personal development.
