On Paper presents its annual printmaking contest to promote the art of printmaking and the connection between printmakers around the world.

Rules

• Each artist will be able to present a single work on paper measuring 300x400mm
• The size of the plate, of the die, can be any as long as the size of the paper is respected.
• The work must have been done using any traditional engraving technique: screen printing, lithography, etching, additive techniques, woodcut, monotype, electro-etching, woodcut, photogravure…
• Artists should use non-toxic processes and techniques. Digital printing is not accepted, ie work done with a printer. You can use digital processes in the creation of the matrix subsequently stamped with traditional methods.
• The work submitted must be relatively new, completed in the last two years, and have not received any other award.

Prize

The shortlisted artists will exhibit their works in Tinta Invisible, Barcelona. The international jury will make a selection of the participating artists; the winner will be the artist with the most votes. There will be the first prize of € 1000 for the winning artist.

The print with the best creative process will get a second prize. There will be a prize for the creative process of € 300 for the artist with the most votes in this category.

Registration

Registration has a fee of € 26. Participating artists will be present on the website onpapercontest.com, ‘PARTICIPANTS’ section for a minimum of one year. The selected artists will also be present in the ‘FINALISTS’ section of the same website and will appear on the social networks of ON PAPER.

Submission

Any artist wishing to participate in the contest must submit the application before April 1, 2022. The application process is through the page onpapercontest.com. The required documents are the image of the work (in JPEG format and maximum of 1MB) however as information about the artist and the work.

The results and the awards will have an announcement on social networks on May 1, 2022. The announcement of the winner will be during the opening ceremony of the exhibition at Tinta Invisible, Barcelona, ​​in June 2022. Moreover, artists will be responsible for all shipping costs.

The work that has not been collected before the next prize will become the property of ON PAPER. Artists who so wish may donate the work to the ON PAPER organization.
