Cassels Black-Owned Small Business Grant for Canadian Businesses 2025 (up to $100,000)

Applications are open for the Cassels Black-Owned Small Business Grant for Canadian Businesses 2025. Cassels is pleased to accept applications from Black-owned or operated small businesses for their annual Cassels Black-Owned Small Business Grant, supported by Wheaton Precious Metals.

The 2025 Cassels Black-Owned Small Business Grant is now accepting applications from eligible businesses located in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary. This annual initiative, supported by Wheaton Precious Metals, is dedicated to empowering Black-owned or operated small businesses that demonstrate alignment with Cassels’ core values and a strong potential for growth. In addition to financial support, selected recipients will gain access to valuable legal expertise and resources designed to help their businesses thrive. By focusing on communities with vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems, the grant aims to foster long-term success and equity for Black entrepreneurs across Canada’s major urban centers.

Grant of Canadian Businesses

• In 2025, the total of the grants provided will be up to $100,000, combining funds raised by individuals from across Cassels with the generous support of Wheaton Precious Metals.

Eligibility for Canadian Businesses

To qualify for a Grant, you must meet the following criteria:

• Business is Black-owned (i.e., owned/controlled and operated in the majority by individuals [partners, officers, managers, directors, etc.] who self-identify as Black);
• Maximum of 50 employees;
• Located in the City of Vancouver, City of Calgary, or City of Toronto or have significant involvement in / impact on the Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto business community;
• Legal and existing Canadian for-profit entity (i.e., sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation).

Note that non-profit corporations with or without charitable status are not eligible at this time.
