Girls Accelerating Sustainable Action (GASA) Competition 2025

I AM GASA (Girl Accelerating Sustainable Action) empowers young women (15-32) to lead sustainable initiatives in their communities. The I AM GASA Competition calls on young women across Africa to showcase projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on environmental sustainability, community development, and women’s empowerment. This competition provides a platform for innovation, leadership, and impact, offering participants visibility, resources, and support. By sharing their initiatives, young women can drive meaningful change, inspire others, and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive future. I AM GASA is a movement for young women shaping a better world.

Award of Sustainable Action

They will honor the top 4 participants with the following prizes:

• 1st Place: $400, 1:1 mentorship sessions with an esteemed professional, and 2 media publication features (local and international).
• 2nd Place: $300 and 1:1 mentorship sessions with an esteemed professional.
• 3rd Place: $200 and 1:1 mentorship sessions with an esteemed professional.
• 4th Place: $100 and recognition certificate.
• All participants will receive certificates of participation and networking opportunities with sustainability experts.

Eligibility for Sustainable Action

• Open to young women aged 15–32 from diverse backgrounds in Africa.

Requirements

• Participants must submit a 2-minute video showcasing their sustainable action project or idea.
• Videos should address issues related to environmental sustainability, community development, or gender equality.

Judging Criteria

• Relevance: Alignment with SDGs and community needs.
• Impact: Potential to create tangible, positive change.
• Sustainability: Feasibility and long-term viability.
• Innovation: Creativity and originality of the idea.
