The aim of this juried Biennial exhibition is to promote the art of printmaking as well as to foster international cultural exchange with the participation of talented artists around the world. Through the competition and the exhibition, this event shall serve as a key platform for artistic exchange and cultural collaboration, and help contribute to the diversity and vitality of print and print-related art.

Prize of Biennial Print Exhibit

  1. Gold Prize (1): Certificate and prize money of NTD 400,000
  2. Silver Prize (1): Certificate and prize money of NTD 200,000
  3. Bronze Prize (1): Certificate and prize money of NTD 100,000
  4. Special Jury Prize (2): Certificate and prize money of NTD 80,000 (each)
  5. Merit Prize (5): Certificate and prize money of NTD 50,000 (each)
  6. Honorable Mention (5): Certificate and prize money of NTD 30,000 (each)
  7. Selected (Several): Certificate of Selection (each)

Moreover, All selected and awarded works are scheduled to be displayed at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts from August to November 2022.

Eligibility

  • Worldwide artists are eligible to take part.
  • All entries must be original prints on paper.
  • Also, the work must be completed in or after 2019
  • The work should not have been exhibited in previous editions of the International Biennial Print Exhibit R.O.C.
  • All works submitted must be original pieces of art that meet the “indirect” and “multiple” characteristics of print, either based on transfer printing or printmaking.
  • Moreover, co-authored works are ineligible.

Rules for Submission

  • There is no registration fee.
  • Each submitted work must not be larger than 150cm in either length or width in paper size, and no smaller than 40cm in either length or width. The work must not be more than 20cm thick. Combined prints, in total, must not exceed this size range, too.
  • Each entrant are eligible to submit one piece of work only.
  • A signature must be made either on the printed side or the back of the artwork, noting the print edition and year of creation. The signature must be clear and discernable, and also the artwork must NOT be framed.
  • The works that do not meet these requirements will not be reviewed.

Timetable

  • February 28, 2022: Submission closes
  • March to mid-April, 2022: Preliminary selection conducted online
  • April 15, 2022: Results of preliminary selection announced
  • April 16, 2022: Submission of originals begins for the selected works
  • May 31, 2022: Submission of originals closes for the selected works
  • July 5, 2022: Prize winners announced
  • August 2022: Opening ceremony & Awards presentation
  • August – November 2022: Exhibition period
  • Before December 31, 2022: Selected works returned (except for award-winning works) to artists who do not agree to donate their works to the museum
