Doctors of the World announces the Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award in order to denounce the reality of millions of people in the world. This award emerges as a tribute and recognition to Luis Valtueña, Flors Sirera, Manuel Madrazo and Mercedes Navarro, cooperators of Doctors of the World killed in Rwanda in 1997 and Bosnia in 1995 when they were developing humanitarian work. His memory serves so that every year the victims of injustice come to light. Therefore Doctors of the world invites you to give them a voice with your eyes.
The photographs must narrate or tell a story related to these topics: humanitarian action, international cooperation, social exclusion, human rights violations, armed conflicts, natural disasters, refugee and immigrant populations or socially excluded groups.
The winner of the Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography will receive a unique award. The winning photographer will receive a work grant of 6,000 euros. The winner will use it to make an in-depth report around the works of Doctors of the World. The report will constitute at least 50 photographs as well as video and/or audio. Further, the photographer can work in any of the countries in which the organization develops programs of humanitarian action and/or cooperation to the development.
