Inspired by the beauty and breadth of images submitted for the 2018 Image of the Year Award held in Europe, Olympus is continuing to search for the best light microscopy images in 2019—this time on a global scale. Olympus’ First Image of the Year Global Life Science Light Microscopy Award recognizes the very best in life science imaging worldwide. Participants can win a CX43 microscope with DP27 digital camera, X Line objectives or an OM-D E-M5 Mark II camera.

Olympus Light Microscopy Image Award

A panel of jury will select one global winner as well as one regional winner from the participants in each of the three regions (Asia, Europe, Americas). The Global winner of Olympus Light Microscopy Image Awards will have the opportunity to choose from three awards, while the regional winner will win OM-D-E-M5 Mark II Digital Camera.

• Global winner: select either CX43 microscope with DP27 digital camera, or X Line objectives.
• Regional winner: win an OM-D E-M5 Mark II digital camera.

Who is eligible for the Olympus Light Microscopy Image Awards?

Participants, thus, entries are eligible for the Olympus Light Microscopy Image Awards, if they meet the following requirements:

• Images uploaded between August 1, 2019, and deadline are only valid. Olympus will announce the winners on March 2020.
• Anyone over the age of 18 can participate. However, Olympus employees, their families, the judges, their families, and individuals engaged in the manufacturing or sales of microscopes are ineligible to participate.
• The competition is open for all candidates from Asia, Europe and America.
• You can upload up to 3 images. All images must be JPEG or TIFF and have a maximum file size of 10MB.
• Nor participants will require to purchase enter or win.

How to apply for the Olympus Light Microscopy Image Award?

Candidates eligible to apply for the Olympus Light Microscopy Image Awards can do so by completing the registration process as well as submitting the images. Participants may do so through the Olympus Online portal.

Deadline

Candidates can apply for the Olympus Light Microscopy Image Awards 2019 until 31 January 2020. Applications arriving after the deadline are invalid.
