Thrive Philanthropy Seed Grant Program 2025 (up to $5,000)

The Seed Grant provides critical funding to initiatives outside of the United States that are working to create just, equitable, and sustainable plant-based food systems. This grant supports efforts that aim to reduce the consumption or demand for animal products, challenge and dismantle industrial animal agriculture, and promote the adoption of healthy, plant-based (vegan) diets. By focusing on these areas, the Seed Grant seeks to accelerate the global shift toward food systems that are better for animals, people, and the planet. The program recognizes that building a plant-based future requires bold new ideas, grassroots leadership, and innovative approaches, especially in regions where plant-based advocacy is emerging or underserved. Applications for the Thrive Philanthropy Seed Grant Program 2025 are now open.

This Grant is especially designed for new or small-scale organizations, participants of the Thrive Africa Accelerator, individuals without nonprofit status, and one-time small-scale projects that might not otherwise have access to traditional funding opportunities. It empowers a diverse range of changemakers—activists, educators, community organizers, and advocates—who are committed to reimagining food systems through the lens of justice and sustainability. By offering flexible and accessible support, the Seed Grant aims to remove financial barriers and nurture impactful initiatives that have the potential to drive lasting change toward a compassionate, plant-based world.

Eligibility for Thrive Philanthropy

• They invite proposals that aim to create just, vegan food systems by reducing the global consumption of animals, reducing industrial animal agriculture, or for vegan advocacy.
• Proposals should align with Thrive Philanthropy’s safespace policy.
• Outside the United States and/or are not an international chapter of a US-based organization.
• Applicants must consistently demonstrate a positive reputation with their stakeholders and community and can contribute to Thrive Philanthropy’s positive reputation.
• Not a for-profit company.
• They are currently prioritizing organizations with a budget less than $500,000 USD.

Application

It takes up to 8 weeks from the deadline for a response. While they aim to fund many proposals, grants are limited, and unfortunately, not all who apply will be awarded.
