Applications call for Climate Tracker Reporting Program 2020 for Journalists in Vietnam. Climate Tracker announces the organization’s second program exclusively for Vietnamese journalists: press training on Energy and Climate Change, which will take place from August 6-9, 2020 in Ha Long. , Quảng Ninh. The program was co-organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Vietnam Institute and the Green Creative Development Center (GreenID).

Funding

The Organizing Committee will support all costs including

  • Accommodation, hotel cost in Ha Long, Quang Ninh for 3 days, 3 nights training
  • Travel expenses to the field
  • Travel expenses to Ha Long for reporters from Hanoi and neighboring provinces
  • Document costs

Criteria

The program is open to journalists based in Vietnam. This program is for young reporters (22-35 years old) in the North who are interested in energy and climate change. If you are not in this age group, Climate Tracker still encourages to submit

In addition, Climate Tracker Reporting Program encourages reporters to attend with:

  • Experience writing journalism about the environment
  • The ability to communicate (speaking) in English (will be needed to participate in the forum with international environmental journalists, as well as the online post-training course if selected).

Additional Details

Due to the limited number of people in the group (affecting the number of hotel rooms, transportation, etc.), you can bring the crew to the field, but you must arrange the costs yourself with the newsroom or TV station. Throughout the program, BTC will collect images you can use.

The top 3 most impressive products will be translated and reprinted (with quotations) on the Climate Tracker and FES Organizers’ pages, which have a large global audience. Candidates with the most impressive product will receive an opportunity to practice their skills through an online course with foreign and domestic journalists, together with a grant of 2.5 million VND to implement the following idea. course.
