Ideas may come from internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world.

Step 1: Check your Eligibility: Who is eligible for Google Research Internship?

Google sets up a number of criteria that an intern must meet to take an internship position at Google. The criteria include:

  • Experience (classroom or work related) in one or more areas of computer science, such as Natural Language Understanding, Neural Networks, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Data Science, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Software Engineering, Programming Languages, Distributed Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Networking,Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Data Mining and/or Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence).
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including C/C++, Java, MATLAB or Python.
  • Also, experience contributing to research communities and/or efforts, including publishing papers (being listed as author) at conferences such as NIPS, ICML, ACL, CVPR, etc.

Further, you must retain a minimum academic qualification in order to get consideration for Google Research Internship

Step 2: Relevant documents: What qualifications will you need?

Documents regarding academic qualification are necessary for Google Internship. You must produce documentation regarding

  • Current enrollment in a Master’s or PhD degree program in Computer Science (or a related technical field).
  • Likewise, Returning to the degree program after the completion of the internship.
  • Demonstration of publication record, with multiple publications at conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, CVPR, etc).
  • Further, Relevant work experience, including industry experience or as a Researcher in a lab.
  • Also, Ability to design and execute on a research agenda.
