Applications call for Prototype Engineering Internship at General Electric in the United States of America.

Basically, the intern performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC Target product development and manufacturing processes. Assignments may include updating engineering drawings, perform verification and validation of production processes, develop technical work instructions and Fabricate and manufacture prototype parts using CNC equipment, including milling, lathes, and programming in Gcode, and so on.

Responsibilities 

  • Utilizing initiative and independent judgment, construct and assist in evaluating engineering models.
  • Updating engineering drawings/shop floor drawings using Solid Works.
  • Performing Verification & Validation of production fixtures; conduct measurement of fixtures (cmm / coating / machine) and complete compliance documentation.
  • Also, developing (in conjunction with engineers and production associates) Standard Work Instructions (technical instruction) and Equipment Operating Instruction (technical equipment instructions).
  • Providing strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.
  • Furthermore, the general direction is given in the execution of job-related activities as well as complying with EHS regulations and policies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current enrollment in Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineer / Manufacturing Industrial Technology program or similar.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, word and excel.
  • One year Solid Works computer automated control experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint as well as proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information
  • Furthermore, effective verbal and written communication skills
