Applications call for EpiC/COVID-19 Internship at FHI 360 in the United States of America.  The intern will contribute to Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) Project.

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery (DSD) to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, and treatment programming.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision and mentorship of the Associate Director, Programs and Deputy Director, Program Management, the intern will have the opportunity to learn about how a global HIV project spanning approximately 30+ countries operates and adapts, particularly in the context of COVID-19.

The intern will provide programmatic support to a portfolio of countries, with the following responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements, and coordinates specific program activities as assigned by the supervisor, primarily for the Asia portfolio.
  • Coordinate reviews and editing to ensure high-quality program deliverables, including quarterly reports, work plans, and sub-award documents.
  • Organize and participate in team meetings and country calls, taking the lead for documenting key discussion points and action items.
  • Work with program backstop to track the completion of action items resulting from calls.
  • Work with the program team and technical team to engage consultants and staff as needed to support program implementation.
  • Support program teams in the development of subawards with local partners for service delivery at the country level.
  • Support the program team in ensuring a smooth closeout of LINKAGES activities and transition to EpiC activities.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or it’s International Equivalent – Communications, Education, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field preferred.
  • Students currently enrolled in a graduate program preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in international development or program backstopping.
  • Prior work experience in an NGO or other professional office setting.
  • Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with partners and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • 1 year of work experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite.
