Facebook Reality Labs, the research division of Facebook, is looking for an exceptional and highly self-motivated intern for Optoelectronic Device Research Internship. Moreover, the intern will help to develop efficient light-emitting devices for the next generation of AR & VR Displays.

The Facebook facility in Cork is responsible for the development of visible light-emitting diodes for head-mounted micro-displays. This work involves challenging industrial research in a broad range of topics including epitaxial growth, micro & nano semiconductor fabrication; advanced device characterizations and system integration. This internship position is particularly suited for an electronic or applied physics postgraduate student who wishes to further develop their skill in a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving research environment. The role will focus on the study of the dynamic performance of custom-made LEDs and it will involve employing a range of device characterization techniques, including RF and short-pulse characterizations. The expected outcome of this work is to provide insight into the optimization (both material & chip design) of light-emitting diodes for AR & VR applications.
