Asian Development Bank offers young professionals an opportunity to boost their career. Hence, it announces Paid ADB Internship 2019. The internship position is open at ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. Further, the interns will work on the topic:

“Comparative Study of Asian Country Experiences in Strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Secondary Education Level.”

Asian countries have been in different learning outcome ratings in the Program of International Student Assessment (PISA) especially on mathematics. The quality of STEM education at the secondary education level determines the foundation for a country’s further competitiveness in technological innovation. An examination of the different models of strengthening STEM education at secondary education level will help extract experiences and lessons learned and share knowledge for developing Asian countries determined in improving learning outcomes in STEM and transitioning to a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.

Paid ADB Internship Program 2019

ADB provides the internship stipend of 69 USD per day for a maximum of 56 calendar days only. Interns may choose to continue work beyond 56 calendar days in agreement with the designated supervisors but without stipend.

Am I eligible for ADB Internship?

The Asian Development Bank considers a candidate eligible for an ADB Internship program depending on several criteria. S/he must meet the age requirements, as well as demonstrate excellent academic and professional skills. Also, candidates should have some professional experience relevant to their assignment.

Here is the list of criteria a prospective intern should meet, to become eligible for the ADB internship program.

  • Masters or PhD student in education, educational economics, or relevant areas, with advanced data collection, processing, and analysis skills.
  • Likewise, be engaged in academic study in a field directly related to ADB’s work;
  • be a national of one of ADB’s members;
  • further, possess an excellent command of English; and
  • Also, have professional experience relevant to the assignment.

How Can I apply for the ADB Internship 2019?

Asian Development Bank accepts the application for Paid ADB Internship 2019 only via ADB Career and Employment System. Hence, to apply for the internship program, prospective interns must lodge an online application. Along with the application, the interns should also submit relevant documentation.

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Proof of enrollment to a Masters or PhD program.
  • Inclusive dates should confirm that you will be enrolled during the intended period of assignment.
  • Also, Essay in MS Word or PDF document, maximum of 1500 words per question.

Essay strengthens the application. So, prospective interns should write an essay on the following topics.

  1. Describe one example of your experience that demonstrated your interest in working in ADB.
