The United Nations Children’s Fund announces Partnerships and Advocacy Internship in Japan. This internship is a paid position in the UNICEF Division of Public Partnerships in Japan. The intern will contribute to the offices’ advocacy and communication tasks to strengthen the visibility of Japan/UNICEF partnerships. The position holder will operate under the general guidance of the supervisor of Partnerships and Advocacy Specialist.

Responsibilities 

The intern will perform the following tasks under the supervisor of Partnerships and Advocacy Specialist, Department of Public Partnerships, Japan

  • Support the teams to enhance donor visibility and UNICEF’s advocacy messages by gathering and organizing information for key counterparts and media.
  • Updating and improving the official website of the Tokyo office as well as updating and handling social media accounts as necessary.
  • Similarly, supporting the team in translating UNICEF messages, press releases, and other publications.
  • Furthermore, providing any other technical and operational assistance as appropriate and necessary by the Team.

Requirements 

  • Current enrollment in a university or a graduate school or those who graduated from schools within two years. Professional experiences are desirable
  • Candidates must be available to work in the office at least 3-4 days per week. Moreover, the work schedule will be more than 4 days per week during the busy period.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and oral languages of English as well as in the Japanese language is necessary.
  • Interest in international development and humanitarian work, especially in the field of child rights, child protection, education, health, nutrition, WASH and so on.
  • Good communication skills as well as good teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. In addition to that, working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and HTML is an asset.
  • Furthermore, experience in public relations and/or event management is an asset.

Stipend/Compensation

This internship is a paid position. Candidates undertaking this UNICEF internship in Japan will be paid a lump sum of JPY 5,500/ day, inclusive of transport cost.
