Facebook Reality Labs are building on expertise in virtual reality systems to begin the development of augmented reality (AR). Oculus Research is seeking research interns with expertise in low-level vision, binocular vision, physiological optics, accommodation, or vision modeling to advance AR technologies. in Washington, United States.

Responsibilities

Candidates on this University Grad Research Internship will do the following duties

• Theoretical and experimental research in vision science and/or physiological optics.
• Collaboration with and support of other researchers across engineering and scientific disciplines.
• Communication of research agenda, progress, and results.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, Vision Science, Physiological Optics, Bioengineering, Optometry, or a related field.
• Strong background in experimental methods.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, cross-group, and cross-culture collaboration.
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven track record of achieving significant results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Intent to return to the degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
• Demonstrated software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or Ph.D. papers.
• Knowledge of psychophysics, signal processing, and/or simulation expertise.
• Ability to design and perform psychophysical experiments.
