Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN. It is an educational simulation to give students a chance to learn about diplomacy and international relations within a UN context. Further, the purpose of MUN is to be a diplomat for a certain country, other than your own, and defend its position on a certain topic in a UN council. Also, the ultimate goal of the discussion between delegates is to achieve a resolution with joint aims and goals concerning the issue. Consequently, MUN involves and teaches not only researching, public speaking, debating and writing skills, but also critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities.

MUN’s are organizing all over the world and try to motivate students to take part in the world of diplomacy and international relations at every level. Subsequently, the candidates don’t need any particular experience in advance to participate, neither do you have to study any study related to diplomacy or law. Additionally, MUN is for everyone
who is interested in global issues and finding ways to solve them.

About GhetMUN 2020

GhentMUN is the MUN conference of Ghent, in cooperation with Ghent University (UGent) and the United Nations Youth Association of Ghent (UNYA Gent). Furthermore, Ghent Model United Nations offer committees for beginner to expert level participants. Containing more than 74 000 students, the city of Ghent can be called one of the main student cities of Ghent without any doubt. Also, Hosting many institutes of higher education, many students from Belgium and beyond find their way to this beautiful city. For instance, Ghent Model United Nations (GhetMUN)  will conduct at Ghent in 3rd – 5th April 2020.

Fees

• Should have done the payment of the delegate fee of 40 euro before 22 March 2020.
• Payments can be made by bank transfer on the following account; Name: GHENTMUN VZW (IBAN: BE63 7340 4610 4008)
• Also, need to make sure to write the applicant FIRST and LAST name in the notification box.
