VSAMUN is a secondary level Model United Nations Conference, attracting delegates from the local, regional and international scene. During the conference, delegates will act as UN representatives of a given country, engaging in fruitful debate and discussion over a 2 day period about global issues. ​

The VSAMUN experience will allow you to cultivate important lifelong skills like organisation, communication and negotiation skills; giving you the opportunity to garner leadership. VSAMUN also offers a variety of different conferences that are fresh and engaging, like our Historical Security Council covering the Soviet-Afghan war or our Human Rights Council. Whether you are a novice delegate looking to gain experience, or a seasoned delegate looking to engage in intense session, VSAMUN will provide the opportunity for fruitful debate, new connections and a memorable experience. VSAMUN 2021 will also be participating in the official UNHCR Challenge; in which the best resolutions in the UNHRC committee will have a chance to be featured and presented to policy-makers in the UN.

The UNHCR Challenge

VSAMUN will have the honor of participating in the 2021 UNHCR Challenge. The UNHCR Challenge is a challenge that aims at young leaders who have strong enthusiasm for Model United Nations, challenging delegates to debate solutions and become increasingly aware of the plight of the forcibly displaced. The UNHCR Challenge shall take place in VSAMUN’s Human Rights Council; in which delegates shall debate the protection of refugees from the dark hand of Covid 19.

Awards

VSAMUN will honor the individual delegates with the following awards

• The Best Delegate Award: It is for the delegates who perform and prepares the best and also are the most knowledgeable about the given topic in regards to their country within their committee.
• The Best Speaker Award: For delegates who perform and is the most well-spoken within their committee; do not necessarily have to be most prepared as well as knowledgeable within their given topic.
• The Most Improved Delegate Award: For delegates who show the most significant improvement over the course of the conference.
• Delegates who perform and prepare well and is knowledgeable about the given topic in regards to their country, however, is not deserving of top honors will receive honorable mentions.
• In addition to that, all awardees will receive a printed certificate. However, VSAMUN will send those certificates to the respective schools.
