Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is available at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Boston. This position is for highly motivated young researchers for a postdoctoral position in experimental quantum information processing utilizing superconducting circuits. The position is expected to last two years with the possibility of renewal.
The successful candidate will be working in the exciting and nascent field of superconducting quantum computing or quantum information. Superconducting quantum information is exploding with research funding and interest from industry giants such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, and a venture-funded startup ecosystem making large investments over the promise to realize a functional quantum computer in the next decade. The opportunities right now for scientists and engineers are vast in this field since currently there is a shortage of highly skilled quantum engineers.
Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan. A postdoctoral research fellowship position is available in the Jun Wu laboratory at the Life Sciences Institute at the University of Michigan. The Wu lab’s primary focus is on metabolic research, particularly in thermogenic adipocyte regulation and alcoholic and nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases, and has experience with publishing in high profile journals such as Nature Medicine and Developmental Cell. Candidates will report directly to Dr. Wu.

The first two weeks of the summer are dedicated to Breakthrough Bootcamp, an intellectual crash course involving intensive reading, writing, and an expert lecture series designed to provide a grounding in the broad-spectrum thinking that informs Breakthrough’s policy agenda. The British Council has launched a scholarship program in partnership with 19 UK universities aimed at benefiting women from the Americas, South Asia and South East Asia. The program looking for women with a background in STEM; who can demonstrate their need for financial support; and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.
This scholarship program aims to increase opportunities in STEM for girls and women. According to data from the UN Scientific Education and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), fewer than 30 percent of researchers worldwide are women and only 30 percent of female students select STEM-related fields in higher education.
