The Button Equity Scholarship was created to actively promote diversity, inclusivity, and equity within the professional communities that come together at our events. At Button, we understand that conferences are not just neutral spaces for gathering—they are powerful platforms that shape industries, amplify voices, and influence who gets seen, heard, and valued. Too often, systemic oppression and exclusion have limited access to these opportunities, disproportionately affecting people from marginalized backgrounds, including those facing barriers related to race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and economic status. With this scholarship program, we are taking a deliberate step toward changing that dynamic by making our events more accessible to individuals who have been historically underrepresented in tech, design, content, and related fields. In addition to supporting individuals affected by systemic inequality, the Button Equity Scholarship also extends to those living in low-income countries, ensuring that geography and financial hardship are not obstacles to participation. By removing cost as a barrier and widening the range of lived experiences at our events, we aim to create a more vibrant, inclusive, and equitable community—one where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, connect, and grow.
