Applications call for Clinical Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. The University of Cincinnati, Counseling & Psychological Services is seeking a culturally sensitive and informed clinical fellow for our fellowship program. The position is a full-time, 12 month, temporary position. It involves working under the supervision of a professional supervisor who is responsible for the fellow’s fiscal and intellectual activities.

Clinical Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati may re-apply to complete the second year in the position if they wish. Our fellowship program provides an opportunity for individuals to integrate therapeutic skills and solidify their identity as mental health professionals. Fellows are involved in all aspects of our services, including providing individual and group counseling, crisis response services, outreach, consulting with students, parents, faculty, and staff, and building relationships with campus partners.

Essential Functions

  • Perform and conduct clinical duties and responsibilities required by a professional mentor in accordance with all institutional and federal regulations.
  • Candidates will spend at least 80% of their time in direct clinical contact involving patient assessment, diagnosis, screening, treatment, report writing, family/client consultation, and/or counseling related to the management of the particular medical specialty.
  • Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Required Education

  • Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of a specialized field, process or discipline.

Additional Qualifications

  • Graduate training occurred at an APA accredited doctoral program in counseling or clinical psychology or a CACREP accredited master’s program in clinical counseling.
  • Completion of a clinical internship or field placement providing counseling services to a young adult/college-aged population.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills as well as a demonstrated openness to supervision and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Experience in providing clinical counseling services and providing crisis intervention services with additional experience in psycho-educational programming for a diverse college-aged population.
