Education Fellowship position available at Sarah Lawrence College in the United States of America. Sarah Lawrence College seeks a full-time Genetic Counseling Education Fellow for the Human Genetics Program. The Joan H. Marks Graduate Program in Human Genetics is the nation’s oldest and largest program in genetic counseling and has trained more genetic counselors than any other program in the world.

The program continues to evolve and innovate the training and education of genetic counselors. This Genetic Counseling Education Fellowship Program is the first of its kind and aims to develop a genetic counseling program leadership pipeline.

Position Role

  • The Genetic Counseling Education Fellow focuses primarily on fieldwork and education scholarship in collaboration with members of the leadership team.
  • Additionally, this individual is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating student fieldwork experiences and developing methods for evaluating and addressing program outcomes to advance genetic counseling training models and practices.
  • This person also applies genetic counseling expertise to facilitate simulated patient encounters, co-teach courses on genetic counseling, and contribute to admissions activities.
  • Furthermore, s/he may have to participate in scholarly activities and professional events at a national level.

Requirements

  • This Education Fellowship at Sarah Lawrence College is a term-limited position of two years, with the option to extend for one additional year.
  • Applicants must be ABGC board-certified or board-eligible with a Master’s degree in human genetics/genetic counseling from an ACGC accredited training program.
