Details

Fully Funded ISN Fellowship in Nephrology is available for application. International Society of Nephrology provides fellows hands-on training in advanced host institutions, allowing them to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge in basic and clinical nephrology, dialysis, transplantation, and epidemiology. The training focuses on providing the exact skills and knowledge specifically required by the home institution.

The guiding principle of the Fully Funded ISN Nephrology Fellowship is that Fellows are required to return to their home countries after their training. Further, they will convey knowledge and experience acquired during their Fellowship. Hence, countless young physicians will get knowledge providing critical enhancement to kidney disease care in their local communities. A recent survey indicated that upon completion of training and return to their home countries, over 80% of the fellows are now in positions in local academic centers with direct impact on clinical care and teaching.

Benefits

The total sum of the grant is in alignment with the length of the training and varies according to the anticipated expenses in the host country, as per World Bank data. Grants covers, or offset, all costs related to the Fellowship, including travel, accommodation and living expenses. However, the grant covers the expenses of the fellow, not his/her family.

Fully funded ISN Nephrology Fellowship grants are awarded on the condition that Fellows return to their respective home countries within three months after completion of the training to actively practice nephrology, teach, and help improve the standards of medical treatment and education in your home countries. Failure to do so, unless exempted in writing by the Secretary-General, means you are in violation of the conditions of the Fellowship and must pay back the grant money to the ISN.
