Fully Funded PhD scholarship is available in Australia. Moreover, Australian National University(ANU) is offering fully funded K.T. Tan scholarship to international students. In 2018 the John Curtin School of Medical Research (“JCSMR”), in the ANU College of Health and Medicine (“the college’, will offer an award known as the K.T. Tan PhD Scholarship. The objective/s of the award is to attract a student of high caliber, with research qualifications and/or expertise, in vision sciences or a related field, to pursue graduate research for a PhD degree at the JCSMR while developing entrepreneurial skills for engagement with industry.

Funding for the fully funded Phd Scholarship has been generously provided by Dr. Suan Tan, in honor of her late father, K.T. Tan. Dr. Tan completed her PhD at ANU in 1982. Her intention is to support work likely to lead to entrepreneurial activity, with a focus on developing new therapeutic interventions for the currently incurable, Dry Age‐Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

Benefit:

• The value of the award will be stated in your letter of offer. The award is payable in fortnightly installments unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.
• Further, International recipients are eligible for an HDR Fee Remission Merit Scholarship. The Scholarship will cover the International Student Fees for the standard duration of the program. Also, it will be a merit‐based selection process and will competitively rank recipients.
• The duration of a full‐time award will be three years in the first instance or such shorter period. Periods of enrolment already undertaken for the PhD degree and periods of enrolment undertaken for the PhD degree during the suspension of the award will be deducted from the duration of the award.
• If eligible, a recipient may apply for an extension of the award. The maximum period of extension is one year. Candidates may seek further extension only where the HDR program has been delayed by circumstances beyond the recipient’s control and is not of a personal nature.
• Recipients of the award will receive reimbursements to assist with ancillary costs while undertaking an eligible HDR program. Moreover, recipients receive a one‐off reimbursement of up to $500 for services associated with the production of their thesis.
