Koola Kampala Business Incubation Programme 2025

Applications are open for the Koola Kampala Business Incubation Programme 2025. This is a business incubation programme for cultural and creative entrepreneurs based in Kampala which will be implemented jointly with The Bold Woman Fund.

This programme aligns with the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, the Sustainable Development Goals, and national policies on culture and the arts, the programme aims to empower young Ugandan cultural entrepreneurs through structured business support, mentorship, and skills development. The program will run for 12 months, starting in July 2025.

Eligibility for Koola Kampala

They are seeking legally registered cultural or creative businesses based in Kampala that:​

  • Have a legally registered cultural or creative businesses for at least one year;
  • Be based in Kampala;
  • Be above the age of 18;
  • Have samples available upon request;
  • Already generating revenue (not solely grant-dependent);
  • Benefit from strengthening in business management and growth strategies.

Selection Process

  • The selection process will focus on candidates’ motivation and why they feel they would benefit from strengthening in business management and growth strategies.
  • 15-20 businesses will be shortlisted for the pre-incubation phase of the programme, where they will receive tailored group and individual coaching. After this phase, 12 finalists will be selected for the main incubation programme.

Interested candidates can apply via the online application form. Applications are open until July 5, 6pm (Kampala time).
