The Molecular Biosensing group at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands calls application for a postdoctoral position on nanophotonic virus sensing.

The candidate will perform applied research in nanophotonic biosensing. She/he will optically characterize nanophotonic structures (photonic crystals), perform chemical functionalization of the structures, and assess their application in the areas of virus and antibody sensing.

Project Details

The project will be conducted at the interface of the Molecular Biosensing group (dr. P. Zijlstra) and the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics group (Prof. A. Fiore), both at TU/e. The duration of the project is 1 year with the possibility for extension to 3 years.

Requirements

Candidates for this Postdoctoral Position at Eindhoven University of Technology must have the following requirements

• Ph.D. in the area of photonic biosensing with expertise in chemical functionalization and nanophotonics.
• Candidates must show interest in experimental physics and demonstrate the drive and capacity to tackle different aspects of a complex problem while working in a team.
