Applications are open for the Sterling Bank/Miva Open University Scholarship 2025. Do you want to apply for a scholarship that truly changes lives? Sterling Bank has committed an unprecedented ₦2 Billion over 36 months to provide 600 full-tuition university scholarships through the “Beyond Education” initiative. This is not just corporate philanthropy—this is nation-building in action.

Sterling is tearing down barriers to quality learning and investing in Nigeria’s greatest asset: its people. The “Beyond Education” initiative is a demonstration of how Sterling fuels National growth through investing in the HEART sectors: Health, Education, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, and Transportation.

They have partnered with Miva University, founded by tech visionary Sim Shagaya. Miva is fully accredited, redefining higher education with flexible, affordable degrees, and no JAMB score required.

Scholarship of Open University

  • Full tuition: The scholarship covers 100% of the university tuition fees for the entire duration of an approved undergraduate degree. However, all other costs like electronic devices, internet access, textbooks, and living expenses are the responsibility of the winner.
  • Flexible Learning: 100% online via Miva’s platform, with community hubs.

Eligibility for Open University

To be eligible, a nominee must be:

  • A Nigerian citizen.
  • Aged between sixteen (16) and thirty-five (35) years on the date of their nomination.
  • Able to satisfy the admission criteria for Miva Open University. Note that JAMB/UTME scores are not required.

Application

To nominate someone, you must hold an active personal Savings or Current account with Sterling Bank. Employees of Sterling Bank or Miva Open University, and their immediate families, are not eligible to nominate.

  • Use your Sterling account to nominate yourself or another deserving Nigerian.
  • They will verify nominations and assign them to states for the voting.
  • The first 74 winners are chosen via public vote; 2 per state.
