Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025 | Fully Funded
Applications are now open for the 2025/26 Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship—a fully funded, one-year program dedicated to empowering African women leaders in public and global health. This prestigious fellowship offers a rich blend of virtual learning, individualized mentorship, a fully sponsored week-long in-person workshop, and a financial stipend. Its mission is to enhance leadership capabilities and advance gender equity in health systems worldwide.
The fellowship is designed for mid-career professionals—African women residing in Kenya or South Africa—who have 5 to 15 years of experience in public health, health policy, or related sectors. Eligible applicants must hold a postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) and be actively involved in teaching, research, policy work, or health practice. Hosted by the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, this transformative program provides cutting-edge training, equity-focused education, and invaluable global networking opportunities to shape the next generation of health leaders.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Countries: Kenya and South Africa
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship will be awarded in public health, health sciences, health policy, or related fields offered by the partnering institutions.
Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Identify as a woman
Be early to mid-career (5–15 years of experience) in local, regional, or global health work
Hold a postgraduate degree (MA or PhD) in public health, health sciences, health policy, or related fields
Work in roles focused on public health policy, practice, teaching, or research
Show demonstrated leadership through education, employment, or community service
Reside and work in Kenya or South Africa
Be an African national
Have fluency in English
Be able to attend a one-week in-person training session
Have employer support to participate in the fellowship
